Elder Mortimer update #3

June 13, 2011
Lakeside Ward/Tucson Arizona

Hey all,

I love you all :) To mom, Yes I got my bike and it runs well. I haven't received
my package yet. No I'm not by fires. Don't forget to tell people to write on my
face book thanks :) I love letters. Oh, the weather here is soooooooo hot. But
its oklol.

So here has been my week
I wake up at 6:15am
Work out till 6:45
Pray till 7:15
Personal study till 8:15
Breakfast till 9:00
Companionship study till 11:00am then out the door we go.

I have never been so tired in my life. When I come home I just want to crash and
die lol. But, then we still have to plan our next lessons. But I absolutely love
it! We had a baptism on Sat. YYYEEESSSSSSSS. It was so cool. It was our ward
mission leaders sons girlfriend and the son is actually on his mission right now
in GA. She had such a sweet spirt about her. We are also teaching a Mexican
family and they just dropped the baptism date on us :(  but they want us to
still teach them. They dropped the date because the father didn't feel ready and
he says he doesn't feel the spirit in church. Its kinda hard to explain and he
is a smoker so we will work with him.

This was a cool experience. So we went to this apartment complex to find some
former investigators. We walked by this group of kids and just kept walking. The
whole time we were walking by I kept feeling GO BACK! GO BACK! GO BACK!  I was
thinking... they will make fun of us and all that stuff. So we kept walking...
then it shouted at me GO BACK! So I looked at my companion and said we need to
go back and talk to them. He was about to say no but felt that we should go back
too. So we did. We stated talking to them for about 15 min and we were like Dan
Jones
in Wales. We were on top of a hill preaching the word of God, man I loved
it. People were even walking behind us mocking us and we also had people stop
and listen. It was so sweet.

Everyone this gospel is true. This is the Lords work. Without him I am nothing.
We are here in the last days, and I'm so glad that I have the opportunity to
preach his word. My goal is in this transfer to read the Book of Mormon. So
every transfer I will read one book either Old Testament, New Testament, The
Book of Mormon and The Doctrine of Covenants. I know I can do it! I love this
gospel with all my heart. I bear my testimony about 10 times a day. It is so
wonderful. I love this area and I love these people. I just wanna stand on the
rooftop and shout hosanna the Lord is King. This is his gospel we are his
servants. I love it soooo much. I'm so glad I've been called to the work because
i have the desire to do the work. my challenge to everyone is memorize doctrines
and convents section 4. we have to hear and recite it everyday. i love it. truly
we are called to the work. i love his work. i love these people.

With much love

Elder Mortimer
